Orthopedic Surgery – Knee and Shoulder Options

Salinas, CA, July 30, 2014 – Orthopedic surgery will be the topic of a Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System (SVMHS) free Ask The Experts event on Wednesday, August 6th. A recent report indicates more than two out of every one hundred Americans now have an artificial joint.

Albert Doornik, MD and Bert Tardieu, MD are physicians at Precision Orthopedics in Salinas and members of the medical staff at SVMHS, where more than two thousand orthopedic procedures are preformed each year. Dr. Doornik will talk about diagnosis and treatment of knee arthritis. Dr. Doornik will also demonstrate computer-assisted knee surgery on a leg model. Dr. Tardieu will discuss shoulder problems and advances in replacement options. Dr. Tardieu will also provide information on anatomic and reconstructive solutions for routine and complex shoulder problems.

Albert Doornik, MD

He is a team physician at Palma High School and Hartnell College and has served as the Medical Director of the California Rodeo Salinas since 2008.

SVMHS has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for both hip and knee replacement at its Joint Replacement Center of Excellence.
