Free SVMHS Ask the Experts Event

 An Update and Discussion of the Controversies in Preventive Health Guidelines

Salinas, CA, May 31, 2014 – Sumana Reddy, MD is the featured speaker at an upcoming free Ask the Exerts event offered by Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System (SVMHS). Preventative healthcare is critical in any health and wellness plan because it allows your doctor to address potential health issues before you get sick. Understanding preventive health guidelines and recommendations can help you remain healthy and active. Dr. Reddy’s presentation will offer advice on key areas of prevention including immunizations, lab tests, physical exams and nutrition.


Sumana Reddy, MD, FAAFP, is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.  Dr. Reddy earned her medical degree from the University of Toronto Medical School, Ontario, Canada.  She completed her residency with the University of California, San Francisco Family Practice Program at Natividad Medical Center, Salinas, California.  She has a special interest in prevention and wellness for men and women, and health education for patients with chronic diseases such as asthma and diabetes.  She is also involved and interested in child development and the impacts of nutrition, media exposure and literacy.


The Ask the Experts presentation An Update on Preventative Health Guidelines will take place Tuesday, June 3 at 6pm. Dr. Reddy will be speaking at the SVMHS Downing Resource Center (Rooms A/B), 450 E. Romie Lane in Salinas. While reservations are not required for this free community event, they are recommended, as seating is limited. All SVMHS Ask the Experts events include a Spanish interpreter and listening equipment so both English and Spanish speakers can enjoy the presentation. Light appetizers will be served.
