Salinas, CA , March 27, 2013- The American Cancer Society annual Celebration of Life Fashion Show will take place Friday, April 11 and features local cancer survivors wearing Spring fashions.
The 20th Anniversary Celebration of Life Fashion Show includes a silent auction, raffle and luncheon. Community support provides funding for research, education, advocacy and patient services. During the past two decades, the gala event has raised nearly one million dollars for the American Cancer Society in the Central Coast Unit Office.
The American Cancer Society has selected Linda Micheletti as the Celebration of Life Honoree. Linda is a breast cancer survivor and long time supporter of the Celebration of Life. Her commitment to the cause began before Linda’s own cancer diagnosis. She watched her grandmother, mother and brother battle the disease. All lost their fight, her brother at age 26. Linda’s passion for finding a cure has included being a member of the Celebration of Life fashion show committee for 16 years. Linda was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007 and is grateful medical advances helped her and others survive.
Dozens of local cancer survivors of all ages will model spring fashions during the 20th annual fashion show Friday, April 11 at the Hyatt Regency Monterey, 1 Golf Course Road, Monterey. The silent auction and no host bar open at 10:30. The luncheon and fashion show run from noon until 2pm. Matthew Romans, MD and Jeremy Silk, MD are honorary chairs for the 2014 event.
